The time before this night that John Houx came through Seattle was at the 1412 Gallery in the Central District, on tour with Birds Fled From Me. It took place months before this night when the weather was colder and everyone was wearing jackets in the space. The bands who played prior to John played too long of sets and the fellow who ran the door was wearing about this. He wanted to go home.

John Houx went on stage, there were maybe seven people left in the space. It was somewhat of a disappointment how that night had panned out where most people that comprised the audience had left. That the two touring acts had an unfortunate show in Seattle. Fortunately on this evening of his performance everyone seemed glad to have his company.

He’d been staying in California whilst touring from his home of New York City and spending this time on tour with Rachel of Birds Fled From Me, again. This time in Seattle John performed in a warm house in the lovely springtime among warmhearted individuals who carried with them a buzz of the upmost excitement and some with partial tipsiness. His witty songwriting carrying with it humor, politics, and one Alan Ginsberg reference delivered by his crisp guitar playing and singing was absolutely thrilling.
