Foot Ox – 6/27/2009

Foot Ox was on one of those “moving tours”. What could be defined as a moving tour- or at least what I mean by it- is when a band or a few of it’s members go on tour and their final destination is the place they are choosing to live. In this case, it was Teague and maybe a few other members moving to Portland, Oregon. I think the rest of the band just went back to Phoenix, Arizona (where the band Foot Ox originates from) after the tour ended in Portland.

This particular recording is hard of hearing when it comes to vocals… You can make it out at points but I think the PA volume just wasn’t as high as I would have like it to be. I remember jumping around a ton during Foot Ox’s set and being very blown away by the bands awesome. At this point summer of 2009 had just began, it was very warm in Healthy Times Fun Club, and it was the first powerful act of my Seattle Summer™.

If you can’t hear the lyrics that well from this recording but you’re still quite impressed by the sound of Foot Ox, it’s just a better reason to see them live or buy a record of theirs. The few songs of the Foot Ox record that I’ve listened to- It’s Like Our Little Machine- is a great record.

If you get a chance to see Foot Ox don’t stand in the front- dance in the front.
